Participants will meet at Richard Webb Reserve before commencing the hike.

Approximately 3:00 PM – Richard Webb Reserve

The return time may vary depending on the group’s walking pace, weather and track conditions. Updates will be provided via WhatsApp or SMS if required.

Important – Parent Volunteer Required

For this activity to proceed, one parent volunteer is required to participate in the hike alongside the Leader.

Brief Activity Overview

This is a full-day bushwalk being undertaken as part of Deena’s Grey Wolf Award journey.

The hike will take place within Bidjigal Reserve, following bushland tracks and passing a variety of natural water and landscape features.

The activity will provide Cubs with opportunities to develop:

• Bushwalking skills
• Navigation awareness
• Teamwork and cooperation
• Resilience and perseverance
• Outdoor confidence
• Awareness and appreciation of the natural environment

Cost

No activity fee applies.

Participants should bring their own food, water and day-hiking equipment.

Transport

Parents are responsible for transporting participants to and from Richard Webb Reserve.

Day Pack / Kit List

Participants are required to bring:

• Full Scout uniform or activity shirt
• Comfortable hiking clothing suitable for the weather
• Enclosed walking shoes or hiking boots
• Backpack/day pack
• Minimum 1.5 litres of water
• Morning tea
• Lunch
• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Rain jacket
• Personal medications, including asthma puffer/EpiPen if required
• Small personal first-aid items, if desired

Please ensure all personal items are clearly named.

Participants should check the weather forecast before the activity and dress appropriately for the conditions.
