Scouts NSW - 1st Ermington Scout Group

Venturers

Venturer Scouts are challenged to look wide - to seek opportunities for adventure they may not have thought possible before.

Scouts will learn about self-motivation, and the courage required to overcome the challenges they face. Scouts will realise the value of their support networks, as well as how these will adapt and change with time and the pursuit of new interests.

At Ermington Venturers, our program is built around helping youth achieve the King’s Scout Award – the highest award in the Venturer Scout section and a recognised symbol of leadership, service, and personal development. Along the way, Venturers can also work towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, as many activities contribute to both awards.

Venturers also have the chance to become qualified to assist or lead outdoor activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, abseiling, and more. These practical skills not only build confidence and leadership but can also count toward nationally recognised VET qualifications – giving Venturers a head start in their careers or further training.
