Yo Scouts,

Orient yourself to this - Our very first super duper exciting Scout Orienteering Night!

During the evening, Scouts will work in patrols to navigate through a series of checkpoints using maps (without street names!). Compass skills, observation, teamwork, problem-solving, spirit of adventure, and challenge are what will matter most. Each checkpoint visited will earn points, with the winning patrols coming home bearing gifts!

The activity is designed to challenge navigation skills while also being lots of fun. The odd “getting lost” moment should be entertaining to watch too.

The activity will take place in the suburban streets within a clearly marked area covering the suburbs of Eastwood, Epping and Carlingford. The Leaders will not be walking with the patrols, but will remain nearby throughout the activity should the need arise.

This activity will proceed even in inclement weather, so Scouts should come prepared for the conditions.

When is it?

• Date:25th June 2026
• Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
• Starting/Ending Location: Loftus Square Park, 35 Willoughby St, Epping NSW 2121
• Mode of Transport: Parents to drop and pickup
• Please ensure Scouts arrive a few minutes early so we can begin promptly at 7:00pm.

What to Bring

• Full Scout uniform
• Enclosed walking shoes
• Rain jacket or wet weather gear
• Water bottle
• Small torch/headlamp
• Compass (if you have one)
• Warm clothing suitable for the weather
• Personal First Aid Kit
